Privacy policy for Panchanga on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Summary
Panchanga does not collect personal data. All calendar calculations are done on your device. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and there is no Panchanga server. Nothing you enter in the app is sent to us.
Information the app uses
All of the following stays on your device unless stated otherwise.
Location. With your permission, the app uses your approximate location (to within about a kilometre) to calculate sunrise, sunset and the calendar for where you are. The most recent location is saved on your device so the widgets can use it. Location is used only while the app is in use. You can decline and choose a place by searching instead.
Anniversaries and reminders. The names, dates and places you enter for birthdays, shraddhas and monthly reminders are saved on your device. They are shared with the app’s widgets and copied to your paired Apple Watch, as described below.
Calendar. If you turn on calendar sync, the app adds all-day events with a reminder to your calendar. It only creates, updates or removes events it made itself, and does not read your other events. Events in your calendar are handled by your calendar service, such as iCloud, in the same way as any other event.
Notifications. Daily notifications are scheduled on your device. The app does not use push notifications.
Apple services
Two features rely on Apple’s services and send a request to Apple:
- Place search. When you search for a city, the text you type is sent to Apple Maps to suggest places and find their coordinates.
- Place names. To show the name of a place, its coordinates are sent to Apple to look up the city name.
These requests go directly to Apple and are handled under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive this information.
Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange your anniversaries using Apple’s WatchConnectivity, which transfers data directly between your paired devices.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
What the app does not do
- Send any data to a server operated by us
- Require an account or sign-in
- Include analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software from other companies
- Track you across other apps or websites
- Sell or share personal data
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your devices for as long as you keep it. You can delete anniversaries and reminders in the app at any time, and deleting the app removes everything it has stored. Calendar events the app created remain in your calendar until you delete them there.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
